Meet Kandy
I'm Kandy, and I am a founding partner, and I currently sit on your board of directors. My duties have been as an advisory to the board regarding procedure, organization, and general partnership growth.
FACTS....
Yes, we are a newer group. However, we are gaining involvement quickly. Much due to the desire to increase educational and networking opportunities designed to benefit successful, independent women with a drive for advancing themselves in business and leadership.
PERSONAL & DORKY....
A little about me:
-I love and follow Jesus, and I am a constant work in progress.
-My husband can't seem to shake me, b/c this year we celebrate 25 years of marriage.
-We have a 21yo who misses us when away at school and is annoyed by us when home. (But we enjoy annoying her)
-I have been a Licensed Massage Therapist for 12 years. I am certified as a Medical Massage Practitioner and I work within a Physical Therapy clinic in Cabot, AR.
-I love to get to know people and how they spend their time. Whether it be work, hobbies, or other skills. Sometimes, I ask random questions with no meaning, just to get to know more about people.
Meet Tabetha
My name is Tabetha, and I am one of the board members for Ignite Women on Fire!
Since we are a fairly new group, we are working on the mechanics of getting everything set up and functioning as we want, so that this group can grow and flourish into an amazing conglomerate of women who help build each other up, enabling us all to be strong, successful, independent women!
I assist with the technical side of things for the group, ensuring that the email and website are functioning as desired, and strategizing the best course of action for informing our members about our upcoming meetings, whether that be through this group or via email.
When I'm not helping with this group, I am either working on the software behind driver's licenses and vehicle registrations as a subcontractor for the state, or I am pouring into my baby (and hopefully soon-to-be full-time job), Tabetha Rae Photography.
Meet Angie
I am a wife and mother. My husband and I recently opened our own gym. I have met a lot of really awesome people through fitness.
Before owning and running a CrossFit affiliate I was a youth pastor, then a kindergarten teacher, and then I started CrossFit which is where I met Ashley and got connected with this amazing group of women.
I want to have more time around strong women but not limited to only fitness. There were so many times in the last five years I wished there was a group that discussed owning a business. I wish I’d had a mentor before opening, during the first year, and quarterly check ins. A woman that had done the dang thing, made all the mistakes and would drink coffee with me, and probably cry with me. I am looking forward to learning and growing more with this group of women a flame can light a fire that the whole world can see.
Meet Juanice
I am Juanice Davenport, and am on the board of Ignite.
Some of our Ignite meetings are held at my business, Grit Krav Maga in Sherwood. My training partner and I teach self-defense classes, which go beyond basic martial arts. We train realistic scenarios that you’re most likely to encounter. Some of the training I’ve had includes fighting in a moving bus; being taped, hooded, and thrown in a van to fight multiple attackers; de-escalation techniques; dirty fighting; and mass shooter takedowns. I recently had a major surgery, and as soon as my doctor clears me to do any activities, we will have my favorite class - a five to six week survivor program for women who have experienced acts of violence and abuse.
I’ve been married for 26 years, homeschool our teenage son, and I live just down the street from the house I grew up in. There have been plenty of ups and downs in my life, but leaning into my faith in God keeps me going!
My favorite thing about Ignite is how strong women come together to help build each other up. I love how everyone supports and genuinely cares for each other. It’s exciting to watch this group take off and grow!
